T.1912 at the Guggenheim

Ninety-nine years ago the Titanic set off on its maiden voyage across the frigid North Atlantic Ocean...and more than 1,500 people perished when the luxury liner struck an iceberg and sank to the ocean floor. This maritime tragedy has captured the hearts of generations and artist Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster has created an interactive recreation in the rotunda of the Guggenheim wherein audience members are the passengers aboard the fateful ship. The Titanic T.1912 embarks on its theatrical journey as The Wordless Music Orchestra performs Gavin Bryars' The Sinking of the Titanic at 8:40pm and 10:40pm.
